Cinzia Delorenzi /artist, trainer

For over twenty years Cinzia Delorenzi has been studying and researching in the field of somatic movement practice and dance. Trained as an educator and therapist in this field, she has developed a practice and pedagogical approach oriented towards the transformative process of the artist and the person. In parallel to her professional path as a dancer, performer and choreographer, her research has shifted, since 2009, primarily to natural and wild settings, in solitude and through retreats in small groups, making use of an experiential and interdisciplinary approach that is open to and nurtured by artistic pursuit. Delorenzi performs her research by water, in marine environments, in forests, in the Moroccan desert, placing the body as a medium in its environment, in a process of re-connection and transformation through listening to the living. The themes of corporeality, intersubjectivity, and inner research are at the core of the work, developed through perceptual and somatic practices, movement, touch, voice, and the reorienting of developmental patterns together with processes of individual and collective creation.

In 2017 Cinzia De Lorenzi has created the project Rhizoma / School of somatic movement education in nature with an ecosomatic and artistic focus.
